Meet Captain Keith

Keith is a senior instructor at one of the world’s biggest training facilities for airline pilots, and part of his training responsibilities is to train senior pilots to become instructors themselves.

Keith’s flying career began at 16 when he first flew a glider. At 17, he left school and took a job as a hospital porter to pay for flying lessons. In 1964, he became the youngest person in the UK to hold a flying instructor’s certificate and then the youngest person to be the Chief Instructor of a UK CAA approved flying school. He spent 27 years as a pilot in British Airways. He has flown almost 20,000 hours and has been teaching since he was 21.
